Extreme Weather

"One man goes to war with the world seeking only his own happiness"

Hitting festivals in 2026 is the short comedy screenplay

 Extreme Weather.

This screenplay is based upon characters I had first written about in the short story FIVE STEPS TO HAPPINESS.  This is the proverbial story of a man who digs a hole, continues to dig deeper as he tries to get out, and ultimately, he climbs into that hole.

Arthur Miller wrote, “A character is defined by the kinds of challenges he cannot walk away from.”  In a nutshell this defines Brian and his whole approach to life. Vienna, his long suffering but loyal wife, sees the absurdity of Brian’s decisions as his world declines into near farce due to his life choices. One small outcome of a choice he made takes Brian down a rabbit hole as his rash decisions, designed to protect his sense of entitlement, lead him to wreck his life for the sake of a self-serving misbelief in his superiority to the world around him.

Peter M. Kershaw commented “The Extreme Weather story seems to capture the world we find ourselves currently living in and like Brian can’t escape from.”

We are currently testing the reception to these characters and our story by submitting the screenplay to film festivals at the same time as looking at possible funding avenues. So far, the reaction from festivals has been 100% positive with the story winning first place in several festivals. Judging from our success, it seems like the world is ready to enjoy Extreme Weather.
