Route 66 to the Grand Canyon is now a month into it’s run at Theatrikos Theatre and with over 70 performances it needed to have two casts to portray three unforgettable characters.

Mother Road, the mystical embodiment of Route 66 itself, is portrayed by Becki Zaritsky and Melanie Santana-Propper.
Ruth, a stranded traveler searching for her next turn, is played by Hannah Johnson and Nicole Brandon.
James, a tow truck mechanic with a story of his own, is brought to life by AJ Maniglia and Ivan Villalpando.
Together, these artists anchor a farcical and magical adventure inspired by the British tradition of end-of-the-pier shows, where laughter, local lore, and discovery collide. With only three characters and endless possibilities, the road itself becomes a living, breathing presence onstage.
It is not just a play you watch.
It is a journey you take, mile by mile.
The play features a play within a play performed using puppets.
